These compositions tell the stories of the wonderful personal encounters that have marked our integration into the village of Beauvechain since June 2024.

Creating the portraits involved combining each person's favorite locations with their unique personality—a subtle blend that required the participants to place great trust in me as they shared the essence of what they love about the village.

Throughout this year of photography, recording testimonials, and collecting written accounts, we met villagers who proudly and happily—sometimes even joyfully—shared pieces of their life stories with us, while also expressing concerns about the future of their environment.

The diverse personalities we encountered offered a deeper understanding of the interpersonal connections that have evolved over generations. We sense a strong desire among these villagers to foster and sustain social cohesion—whether through artistic or craft-based gatherings or simply through the shared experience of living well together.
